ABOUT THE GRANT

PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn. Berhad (PMVSB) aims to provide support to our local communities within the Merdeka 118 precinct to re-configure your activities, create new content and provide opportunities for you to reset and restart – bounce back from any challenges you are currently facing and encourage self-sustainable approaches to build resilience towards future disruptions.

Applications are open to project proposals related to the development of community, sports, arts and heritage, and entrepreneurship activity within the Merdeka 118 precinct.

ALL MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY WITH AN IMPACTFUL PROPOSAL ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY!

GRANT AREAS

SPORTS

Enriching fitness and wellness activities within Downtown Kuala Lumpur to develop healthy lifestyles and empowered communities.

TYPES OF PROJECTS:

1: Publications

2: Exhibitions and talks

3: Digitalisation of content

4: Preservation of sports

5: Space activation (i.e., events,

    festival, monthly competition)

6: Capacity building workshops

    (i.e., coaching, training,

    educational seminars)

7: Sports facility improvements,

    upgrades and enhancements

EDUCATION

Providing access to educational support for children and the youth through a wide-range or tools, resources and skills for learning.

TYPES OF PROJECTS:

1: Educational programmes

2: Vocational training (carpentry, engineering, culinary, design, language courses)

3: Literacy and numeracy programmes

4: Problem-based learning

5: Digital literacy courses (coding, website development)

6: Educational spaces (libraries, tuition centres, makerspaces)

 

 

 

ARTS

Creating opportunities for artisans and cultural workers to be creative and to deliver high quality content in Downtown Kuala Lumpur.

TYPES OF PROJECTS:

1: Community art programmes (i.e., exhibitions, art installation, murals)

2: Innovative presentation via technology

3: Preservation of traditional trades (i.e., publications, documentations)

4: Capacity building and educational workshops for the arts community

BUSINESS COMMUNITY

Enhancing traditional and new businesses within Downtown Kuala Lumpur to be more resilient in facing future challenges.

TYPES OF PROJECTS:

1: Capacity building and entrepreneurial programmes

2: Digitalisation of businesses
3: Living heritage programmes for

4: local cultural associations
5: Vocational training for vulnerable

    communities (i.e., women, bottom-40,

    person with disability groups)
7: Space activation

    (i.e., festivals, events)

No idea is too small. We believe that with tactical support through this Grant, your effort will positively impact the Merdeka 118 community and foster growth.

Grant amount that showcases a sustainable community impact will be evaluated on a case to case basis and subject to approval from the Review Panel

      FAQS

    How much funding is available in the Merdeka 118 Community Grants Programme?

    Grant amount will be evaluated on a case-to-case basis and subject to approval from the Review Panel

    Can international applicants apply for this grant?

    Yes, as long as they live in Malaysia and have a stake (businesses, properties or projects) within the Merdeka 118 Precinct.

    We have received funding from another programme. Are we still eligible to apply?

    Yes, please state the secured funding from other sources in the budget template of the application form and provide a letter of interest as evidence.

    Can we submit two applications for the same grant cycle?

    No, we only accept one proposal per organisation per grant cycle.

    Can an individual or partnership of two or more organisations apply for the grant?

    Yes, they can apply for the grant.

    How long do we have to complete our project?

    Projects must be completed within 12 months from time of grant award. However, if the project is delayed due to unforeseen circumstances, kindly request for an extension of your grant term.

    Does the grant fully fund our project?

    The grant supplements the project. However, it does not support operational costs like administrative nor overhead costs.
